Impersonator 52n (Gen-2) ..... Tele* neck with soft edged Twang
The all NEW Gen-2 Impersonator 52n incorporates newly developed technology and specially made parts engineered to produce our first Tele neck pickup with Non-Aged-Sound. We recommend you scroll to the Technical & Application Info section below for important stuff you should know about this new model. The sound it produces is non-aged, that means quite dynamic and alive. Behaves like a new non-noiseless pickup and tends to resist crunching too easily under heavy pick attack. Highs with a lot of presence, soft edged twangy midrange with highly prominent piano mid-tones and lovely deep bass .... and it's loud and punchy. Volume pot should be 500k to achieve the best sonic performance. Excellent on-stage definition without having to play too loud. It will sound as good to your audience as it does to you whether it's soft, loud or distorted. The 3 new Vintage Neck pickup models, AVn-60n, AVn-48n and Impersonator 52n, have a lot in common but there are subtle but significant differences between them. The AVn-48n has the sharpest twang with the most prominent piano mid tones. The AVn-60n is one step away and has a slightly more mellow twang and slightly softer feel and is about as loud as the 48n. The Impersonator 52n is the most rounded with the mildest attack and is as loud and the others. It 's got a far taller string sensing coil, longer magnets and Kinman's patented magnetic focusing technology which enables Non-Aged-Sound to be produced with enough volume to balance with the very loud Impersonator 52b bridge model too. The sonic performance is upheld by our NEW Gen-2 Nickel-Silver cover which is engineered to look like the original but not impact in a negative way on the sonic performance of the pickup as the original 60's Fender Chromed Brass covers do. Our cover is also arched to allow staggered magnets which produce much improved string volume balance. Also the grounded cover does not produce buzz when touched with fingers. Available in 3 finishes, Chrome plated, Gold plated and buffed un-plated Nickel-Silver that will age fast for a relic look. This pickup has Kinman's propriety Alnico-K low strength magnets, like all our Fender type pickups so string pull and Strat-itis pitch warble is minimized and sustain is longer since there is less rattle and buzz from the strings crashing into the frets from excessive magnet pull. Best in a Kinman Goodbye-Soldering Harness. Some people will call these noiseless Telecaster pickups but Kinman prefers to describe them correctly as Zero-Hum Telecaster pickups. That's because there are 2 types of noise, Hum which is cancelled in the pickup and Buzz which can only be minimized by shielding the wiring cavities (refer to >Technical >Perfect Guitar >Shielding for newer guitars
